When Manchester United fans can watch Cristiano Ronaldo live on TV for the first time

Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to make his second Manchester United debut on September 11, but the Newcastle United game will not be shown on TV.

In the midst of the devastating Covid-19 pandemic, supporters were forced to watch the majority of last season from the comfort of their own homes – with all Premier League matches being screened live by the BBC, BT Sport and Sky Sports.

Of course, with a sense of normality returning across the board, those fans are now back in stadiums.

It’s a welcome sight for everyone involved in the game, though that in turn means home-watchers are restricted with the amount of games they can take in live.

Having sealed a sensational return to United on deadline day, five-time Ballon d’Or winner Ronaldo is preparing to touch down in Manchester, once again, in the coming days.

On the back of picking up a yellow card on a record-breaking night for his goals tally, the Portuguese captain has been sent home and will now team-up with his United colleagues at their Carrington training base.

As reported, his would-be debut vs the Magpies is not being shown live by any of the above broadcasters.

However, for those who won’t be able to attend games in person, you won’t have to wait too long before seeing Ronaldo pull on that iconic number 7 red shirt in HD!

United kick-off their Champions League quest against Young Boys in Switzerland on Tuesday, September 14.

That early evening group-stage encounter (5.45pm) is set to be shown on BT Sport 2 – with the 90 minutes coming after dedicated build-up – and the club’s following Premier League match has been picked out for TV coverage, too, by Sky Sports.

United will get down to business against West Ham at the London Stadium on Sunday, September 19 (2pm) on the Main Event and football channels
